I got asked by an ad agency for the biggest east german energy service provider, Envia, to create the sound layer for an explanatory animation for one of their campaigns. The music had to be happy and hip. Mostly like the stuff that you hear in every other youth-targeted tech ad nowadays. Ukuleles and Xylophones. So the work was easy and fun. And I could evolve my ukulele skills a little.

I noticed I barely share any background details about my tracks. here are some secrets: I don't have an ukulele. oh my gooood big_smile I bought an instrument that I loaded into Kontakt. in fact, most of the instruments I use come from the Komplete library. I love how realistic the studio drums sound. I haven't encountered anything better up to this point. of course it also requires understanding of the "real" instruments. I know how most instruments work, I've played them myself and seen musicians in orchestra's and bands many times. my mom used to work in a large music school, so I could play around a lot as a kid. the brass and violins are from the vienna symphonic library. as usually, I use iZotope's Ozone 5 for the final mastering and an effect bus with Steinberg's Reverence IR Reverb plugin to make it even more realistic. this is a secret tip which some musician gave to me a while ago. it has to do with instruments having to sound like they are in the same room or something. since last week I have an Axiom 49 which is wonderful for remote controlling Cubase. for someone like me coming from many smaller sized keyboards and then the Microkorg XL as a midi controller (and the Kawai MP-4 for piano parts), this is a huge step.

I'm loving it!

Very cool! Sounds like a perfect soundtrack for this kind of ad.
Also the choice of instruments and mixing is very good. Very nice to read a bit about how you work.

Yeah, that sure is happy music!

The beeping on the 9th sure adds some suspense to the tune!

(nice work!)

Great uke.  And yes, the beeping does add a tension!  I hope the patient made it.
